Building Organizational Shock Absorbers, Part III

This workshop is for you if:
  • You're part of a group navigating organisational transition, restructuring, or periods of high stress

  • You lead or work on teams, organisations, or communities across cultural or hierarchical difference

  • You're in the NGO or nonprofit sector and want stronger internal and external relationships to support mission-aligned work

  • You're a professional who knows that communication breakdowns are costing you — and want practical skills to address them

What You'll Learn

You'll leave with a working knowledge of key process skills, including:

  • A practical understanding of process in group dynamics, and how to attune to what is both spoken and unspoken

  • Frameworks to understand where and how to intervene when issues arise, and tools to do this skillfully

  • The role of vulnerability and feelings in the workplace and the power of modeling authenticity as a leader

  • Skills for leaning into difficult conversations rather than avoiding conflict

The Long Shadow of Leadership

Leaders set the tone for their organizations. Even well-meaning ignorance, conflict avoidance, or unintentional signaling can have outsized impacts because of how power dynamics operate in organizational settings. This session is for leaders who wish to break out of unhelpful patterns, develop skills to cultivate relational and inclusive environments, and lead in ways that bolster their organizations and the people in them.

Competencies include learning to lean into difficult conversations, modeling healthy boundaries and expectations, and knowing whether and how to intervene when things go wrong.
